Fern Mechlowitz

Counsel

Fern Mechlowitz is an experienced litigator.  She has represented clients in a wide array of criminal and regulatory investigations, complex civil litigation, international arbitration and other contentious matters.   She has helped clients respond to subpoenas and inquiries from the Department of Justice, the Securities & Exchange Commission, the Internal Revenue Service, and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, among others.  Ms. Mechlowitz has also provided compliance advice on the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and the UK Bribery Act. 

Before joining Gelber + Santillo PLLC, Ms. Mechlowitz worked as an associate at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP for eight years and Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP for nearly two years. 

Ms. Mechlowitz served as a law clerk for the Honorable James H. Michael in the United States District Court for the Western District of Virginia.  She received her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and her B.A. from Stanford University, where she graduated with honors and distinction.  

Ms. Mechlowitz is admitted to practice law in New York, California, and the District of Columbia.
